wedding anniversary

Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary, we didnt do anything elaborate (to much going on at the mo) but being as the traditional gifts for 4 years are either flowers or fruit it made it quite easy (i got a lovely bunch of flowers and hubs got a bottle of local cider a bottle of local perry and an apple strudel, its all fruit right?) and we collapsed on the sofa and watched some columbo (hubs loves columbo?). Anyway i saw this yesterday on pintrest and it tugged at my heart strings a bit.

Hello lovely june.

Hello june! (the end of may whizzed by in a blur, more on that !) I love june, its got my birthday in it for starters! the garden really starts filling up with blooms and it might just be warm enough to sit out in the evening till late with candles and the chimnea blazing gentley and a glass of something cold and fizzy oh and a big bowl of olives, bliss. The kids can spend all day bimbling around outside (and alf sleeps a whole lot better when he's been doing that), pic nics, icecream, i could go on but im guessing you get the gist?.

Back to the end of may, i was all set for sorting and decorating (joining in with project simpilfy, putting up my dream wallpaper, and a heap of other tasks in the garden) but all has been put on hold because firstly the boiler packed up (booo) and then a few days later hubs put his foot through the bath (it is a really rubbish cheap and nasty 80's job that we acquired when we moved in) so anyway we have been spending every spare minute looking for baths/showers tiles etc, its the first big decorating task we have undertaken (we've painted walls and sanded floorboards but never chosen new permannt fixtures) and its really quite daunting very exciting too tho! i have spent a million hours on pintrest pinning lovely bathrooms and that really helped me make decissions. Well the builders are in and at the mo we have a toilet and some lovely fresh plastered walls no hot water and thats it (a bit like glamping) its a bit chaotic and i cant wait for a bath. So i will leave you with the colour we are thinking of painting the old victorian floorboards, any words of wisdom about bathrooms welcome, will keep you posted on progress.

ANTIMONY, fired earth paint.

wallpaper pondering

I have been pondering which wallpaper would be best in our living/dining room for a while now(about 2 years?!). My absolute fave wallpaper is this one by orla keily but it didnt match what we had in our living space. I did some searching but nothing was right or i just didnt love it as much as my fave. So with a small kick in the right direction from project simplify i've made up my mind to get my fave wallpaper and change everythig else to match it!, simple really should have thought of it ages ago!
Only one problem, does anyone know how to caculate how much wallpaper to buy ???? (ive got a door, window and a radiater on the wall i want to put it on and im not great with maths, is there a foolproof way?) x.
